Google Currents представляет собой платформу, через которую осуществляется публикация и распространение материалов изданий в онлайн-режиме.
Что это такое?
Сервис предназначен для издателей и читателей журналов – владельцев смартфонов, функционирующих на операционной системе Android. С помощью данного приложения человек сможет быть в курсе выхода новых статей и журналов, и читать совершенно бесплатно.
Запуск Google Currents состоялся в 2011 году в США и с годами добрался во все уголки мира. Скачать приложение можно в Google Play. После того, как оно будет установлено, система предложит подключить google-аккаунт, чтобы синхронизировать все имеющиеся подписки и сделать их доступными на устройстве.
После того, как это будет сделано, можно приступать к добавлению интересующих цифровых изданий. У сервиса имеется обширный каталог, который насчитывает множество разных изданий. Многие из них – на английском языке, но это легко объяснить тем, что Google Currents был открыт для всего мира не так давно и ранее был доступен лишь в США, где основным языком является английский.
Кроме того, можно воспользоваться удобной функцией, которая позволит добавить любой источник из Google Reader.
Окно программы состоит из двух частей. С правой стороны расположены иконки, предназначенные для быстрого перехода в нужное издание, а слева будут сменять друг друга иллюстрации из наиболее популярных журналов.
Данное приложение можно использовать на смартфонах и планшетах.
Как удалить приложение?
Саму программу убрать со смартфона легко: достаточно просто выбрать пункт «удаление приложения» и подтвердить процесс. Однако, это не удалит сам профиль в Currents.
Для этого необходимо зайти на страницу http://currents.google.com/downgrade, выполнить вход и следовать появляющимся на экране инструкциям.
Некоторые люди озабочены тем, что будет после того, как профиль пользователя в Currents перестанет существовать. Это никак не повлияет на аккаунт пользователя в Гугл, поэтому волноваться не о чем.
